I was born and raised in Costa Rica, but currently live in Atlanta, USA with my wife, my daughter, and a small cadre of peculiar pets.

So, not surprisingly, my fiction is mainly inspired by Latin American magical realism (Borges, Cortázar, Garcia Márquez, Allende, etc.) and US/British speculative fiction (Lovecraft, Ashton Smith, Howard, Wells, Vance, Wolfe, Storm Constantine, etc.). However, other important influences include European existentialism (Kafka, Sartre, Camus, Dostoevsky, etc.) and contemporary Indian writers (Rushdie, Lahiri).
